In Math we learn multiplication & division, algebra, geometry, measurement, fractions, decimals, problem solving, and probability.
We explain our mathematical thinking in writing.
In Language Arts we read and write poetry, narrative stories, fiction, and nonfiction. Books we really enjoy are Chasing Vermeer, Flush, The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane. and Missing May. Some of our favorite authors are Andrew Clements, Dan Gutman, Gordon Korman, Cynthia Rylant, and Eve Bunting.
In Science we study astronomy, insects, and landforms.
Social Studies helps us understand more about Native Americans, Explorers, and Colonial America
We might take a field trip to Plimoth Plantation, Museum of Fine Arts, or a Boston Symphony Youth Concert.
Special Projects in 4th Grade may include the Insect Fair, I-project, Writing Celebrations, and Kindergarten/4th Grade Buddies.
The most important thing that you should know about us is that we are poets, mathematicians, scientists, explorers, writers, critical readers, learners, and participants in our community.
